Why So Little Discussion?

It seems to me that in most if not all industrialized nations many people rarely if ever discuss what they or others believe about the MEGAQUESTIONS. Why is this? Megadestruction

Megadestruction which would affect some or all of the population on the planet can easily happen. With that in mind, how can we be prepared in case we survive such a catastrophe? How can we be prepared if we do not survive?

What about Origins?

How did the universe originate? How did life originate? Do we have any way of knowing these things? Also, if they were deliberately brought into existence, do we have any way of knowing why? Feel free to enter a comment below.
